Credit Hire Pre litigation collections handler

Location: Uxbridge

Role Purpose:

To function as handler within the pre litigation team overseeing aged debt reviews and considering prospects with a view to settlement or on boarding the client and instructing panel solicitors.

To effectively negotiate settlement of credit hire, storage and recovery invoices pre-litigation in house and identify those claims suitable for litigation. On occasions make recommendations for w/off where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

Confident negotiation with third parties to achieve successful settlement results.
Application of the ABI GTA, relevant case law and credit hire principles to settle cases
Strong ability to be able to assess prospects of success for credit hire and S&R claims, to include assessments on liability disputes.
Good working knowledge of BHR reports.
Strong organisation in managing your own time and caseload.
Pro-actively make outbound calls to insurers to discuss cases and agree settlement terms.
Comprehensively review and appraise cases prior to escalating to your line manager for litigation.
The ability to assess impecuniosity and the appropriate evidence.
Strong client care skills to gather appropriate evidence and on-board clients for litigation.

Credit hire experience essential.
Strong knowledge of the ABI/GTA
Strong overall RTA experience to assess liability and indemnity issues.
Working knowledge of the MIB and relevant agreements
Excellent telephone manner
Confident negotiator
Good organisational skills, strong ability to prioritise and high attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Has a working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook and case management systems?
Numeracy skills to be able to understand and effectively settle our credit hire invoices.
Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues.
Have a ‘can do’ attitude and an ability to think ‘outside the box.’
